The Creatures of the North Series debuted from the Royal Canadian Mint in 2020 with the release of one of the most fearsome creatures of the deep, the Kraken. Rumored for thousands of years to prowl the deepest reaches of the worlds oceans, the 19th century saw rumors of the Kraken come to life when a giant squid washed up on the eastern shores of Canada. From one legend to the next, the werewolf features in the second design of the series.

All of the 2021 2 oz Canadian Werewolf Silver Coins available here come with individual or bulk packaging. Individual coins ship inside of plastic flips. Multiples come in either tubes of 14 coins or boxes of 280 coins. The box holds a total of 20 individual tubes with 14 coins each.

Obverse designs on the 2021 Canadian Werewolf Silver Coin depict Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. This popular design has graced coins since its creation in 2003 and is the fourth-generation portrait of Her Majesty to feature on Canadian coinage. The design is the first of her reign to lack a crown.

Reverse visuals on the 2021 1 oz Werewolf Silver Coin from the Royal Canadian Mint include the fearsome image of a werewolf. Reports of werewolves in what was then New France, the modern province of Quebec, date back centuries. One of the first publicly written accounts appeared in the Gazette de Quebec in July 1767.
